Voidsingers is good in Civilization 6, so you don’t have to be

So, you’ve come back to reading ol’ Nystagmus prattle on secret societies? First he tells you that Hermetic order isn’t all that bad. What’s he going to say next? That the rumours that Voidsingers being good are true? Yes. That is exactly what I am going to do.

Imagine this – you’re new to playing Civilization 6 or better still, new to playing Deity. Those darn’d AI with their high early yields. The beads of sweat dripping down your forehead each turn that you fail to close the gap. Well do I have the solution for you. You find that tribal village and you pick those Voidsingers post haste and watch your anxiety melt away. Yes, the Voidsingers can even get Nystagmus, the embodiment of “those that cannot do, teach” when it comes to Civilization 6, respectable yields a chance of a victory screen. One is coming, I feel it. Any day now, I will have Voidsingers to thank for that.

Let us start with the Old God Obelisks. These are powerful early buildings that replace the monument. Are you Rome and get free monuments? Bonus! With 4 faith output and great work slot this building gives you the faith output of a temple at less than half the production. Make that classical golden age count if you decide to pick monumentality.  Use that extra faith income to purchase great people. Trust me – it feels good to steal great people from the AI.

“Oh, cool. So Voidsingers only really helps faith income?” Oh no no no.  After the Medieval era all that extra faith output – 20% is converted into science, gold and culture. That’s right. This unholy secret society boosts ALL outputs across your empire. Get to Chorus and watch you close the gap between you and the AI – even if you are having a particularly “Nystagmus” game. Great yields with little to no effort? Yes please!

You reach the mid-late game. Your yields are near parity or exceeds the AI. Now Voidsingers gives you the opportunity to be the most annoying player to ever grace the game Civilization 6. Want to play like French Eleanor and flip cities but don’t want to play French Eleanor? Well now you can! Enter the cultist. All that extra faith you have now? Spend it on cultists. Send them to border cities to lower their loyalty. Soon their citizens will see the error of their ways and join your now great empire.

If that wasn’t enough – Promoting to Symphony allows you to Dark Summon that turbocharge cultists and increase faith output. Flip the AI cities with impunity. They hate you for it? Seems like a “them” problem. I don’t know Wilhelmina – maybe you shouldn’t have picked Hermetic order. I hear that’s a pretty bad secret society…
